e-waste recycling centre

The Centre for E-waste Recycling is a mega-factory that responds to all stages of recycling with an emphasis on creating awareness and providing education in order to efficiently reduce waste generation. The process of e-waste recycling is highly dependent on the sorting and the handling of the material. The e-recycling process starts on a disassembly line where workers remove the casings, wirings, glass, and printed circuit boards. Products that include hazardous components such as CRTs, cooling and heating devices and batteries are first decontaminated before they are fed into the shredder. Ferrous materials are separated via magnets and eddy current separator, separates non-ferrous metals from plastics. Optical sorters use metal detectors and air-guns to separate the material according to its weight or colour.
