I see architecture as a series of problems to be understood and thoughtfully solved. A home has to work, but it should also make everyday life easier, more enjoyable and more beautiful.

I’m particularly interested in existing buildings and the way they evolve over time. Much of my work is currently with Victorian homes in East London, buildings that have already accommodated generations of people and will hopefully accommodate many more. I believe we have a responsibility to treat them with care. That doesn’t mean preserving everything or recreating the past. It means understanding what is already there, deciding what is worth keeping, and making new interventions that feel considered and built to last.

I’m not interested in perfection or in following a particular architectural style. Every project comes with constraints, compromises and imperfections. Good design is about making thoughtful decisions within those realities and finding opportunities in them.

The details matter to me, especially the ones that don't immediately demand attention. I like the idea that someone might live in one of my projects many years from now, notice a small detail and think, someone really thought about this.

Ultimately, I want Designaz to contribute to a built environment that is more thoughtful, welcoming and generous, creating places that work well for the people living in them today, while leaving something worthwhile for the people who come next.
