New build housing
Across a range of projects with the award-winning London-based practice WHAT_architecture, I contributed to various aspects of design and delivery, spanning early-stage research through to on-site coordination.
Costa street is a notable example, a four-unit residential scheme in Peckham, designed with a distinctive form that responds directly to its urban and ecological context. Influenced by the adjoining building’s mansard roof, the proposal evolved into an unconventional leaning morphology that reaches out toward the mature trees of the McDermott Road Nature Garden. Constructed from cross-laminated timber (CLT) and clad in brick, the project reflects a commitment to innovative, sustainable urban housing.
In this project, I was involved in various stages, including material selection, interior layout planning, kitchen and bespoke joinery design, and bathroom design. My contributions aimed to enhance the functionality and aesthetic appeal of the living spaces, aligning with the project's innovative architectural vision.
Costa Street has been recognised with several awards, including the International Architecture Award at the 2021 New Zealand Architecture Awards, highlighting its significance in contemporary housing design.
